FAQ

  • What is hypnotherapy and how does it work?
Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that leverages a natural state of relaxation, akin to those moments when we read, watch TV, drift into sleep, or daydream. This state involves heightened suggestibility, focused attention, and increased creativity. Referred to as a trance, it renders individuals more receptive to positive suggestions and imagery. It also opens communication with the unconscious mind and implicit memories, granting us access to insight and solutions that may be otherwise out of reach. Within this altered state of consciousness, a trained hypnotherapist collaborates with the person to address various issues, such as managing stress, altering behaviors, conquering phobias, or alleviating symptoms of illness. This process is deeply relaxing and often evokes feelings of peace and well-being.
  • Can I be made to something I don’t want to do?
It's important to note that during hypnotherapy, the individual remains fully aware and in control, and they cannot be made to do anything against their will or ethical values. Hypnotherapy is a safe and effective tool for promoting personal growth and addressing a wide range of psychological and emotional challenges.
  • How can I make sure I am successful in my hypnotherapy sessions?
The most critical factor for success in our hypnotherapy sessions is you. Highly successful clients typically share common traits that significantly contribute to their positive outcomes. These traits include a deep desire and commitment to personal transformation and a willingness to engage fully with the therapeutic process both in and out of session. Curiosity, enthusiasm and personal accountability also really help!
  • Do I really have to do my homework?
Yes, it's crucial that you do! The neuroscientific evidence is clear: in order to harness the power of neuroplasticity and make lasting changes, practice and repetition are essential. Most of us have been doing the things we no longer want to do, thinking the things we no longer want to think and feeling the ways we no longer want to feel for a very long time. The good news is that we can create new neural pathways through consistent practice and repetition, which allows us to begin to think, act and feel differently. The saying "practice and repetition got us where we are" holds true whether we're satisfied with our current situation or not. Fortunately, the homework we assign isn't like traditional academic assignments with essays or tests. Instead, you'll be encouraged to put into practice the new skills and insights you acquire during your sessions. This practical application is how you begin to think, act, and feel differently, ultimately leading to the change you desire.
